Black grain – also called Kalindhi seeds. Although this plant is rarely grown in Lithuania, it is perfect for the Lithuanian table. Use for sauerkraut, cucumbers, baking bread. Also added to sweet dishes: kissels, puddings, sprinkled on baked goods from yeast dough. When added to vegetable dishes, into pastries with vegetable filling, they give them a peculiar aroma. Try sprinkling on watermelon!
